Jason Matthews

Jason Matthews helps organizations raise their profile and deepen their impact by improving their efficiencies, revitalizing their internal operations, and developing communications strategies that connect.
As a strategic planner and facilitator, he has developed plans, directed qualitative research projects, hosted planning sessions, managed implementation, and advised nonprofits, businesses, and government agencies.
When it comes to communications, Jason has crafted winning strategies for clients in the private and public sectors. He has advised clients ranging from the nation’s largest independently owned coal company to regional businesses and nonprofits. Jason has directed state and federal lobbying initiatives and has served as a senior strategist on four successful bipartisan statewide measure campaigns. In 2014, he was the chief strategist for Citizens for Higher Education, which successfully defeated Constitutional Measure 3 by a margin of 75 percent to 25 percent.
Jason is a graduate of the Leadership Bismarck-Mandan program. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Fort Abraham Lincoln Foundation, is a member of the Greater North Dakota Chamber of Commerce, the Bismarck Rotary Club, the Sons of the American Legion, and is a past president of the Friends of the Bismarck Public Library. In February 2016, Governor Jack Dalrymple appointed Jason to the North Dakota Library Coordinating Council. He teaches as an adjunct political science instructor at Bismarck State College and for the University of North Dakota’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI).
Jason received a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of North Dakota and master’s degree in management from the University of Mary. He lives in Bismarck with his wife and two daughters.
